🌶️ It's getting Big Spicy in Big Tech 🌶️

I recently saw Zuck's interview on the Joe Rogan and was quite surprised by the sheer shade he threw by calling out Apple for what he perceives as a lack of recent innovation.

His take - The iPhone's golden days are behind it, and Apple’s walled garden policies stifle competition.

Some reasons he pointed out were:

🔹 Apple’s App Store fees (15-30%) were allegedly compensating for plateauing iPhone sales.

🔹 Features like AirPods’ seamless iPhone integration are great—but only for Apple, as competitors face hurdles accessing similar protocols - they wouldn't let Meta Ray-ban's use the same protocols

🔹 iMessage’s blue/green bubble divide is framed as a social dynamic wrapped in security concerns.

Zuckerberg also questioned Apple’s Vision Pro launch, saying Meta offers better tech at a fraction of the price—but he did credit Apple for taking a “big swing” with their first iteration.

These critiques are thought-provoking, we also need to remind ourselves that Meta biggest cash cow has been to use our data for ads. Also his reliance on acquisitions like Instagram, Oculus, and WhatsApp to build its portfolio.

I guess everyone has skeletons in their closet. It's just about whose come out first.
