You can be digitally sustainable too!

Have you ever thought about the thousands and thousands of emails and attachments sitting in your inbox that you probably will never open again? They will probably stay there forever, consuming server space and storage.

Now multiply that by that every single person using email on this planet (probably billions), and the amount of pollution it would cause to store that kind of unnecessary data.

Obviously, we don't have the time and patience to delete them, and there is no incentive to do that either.

Recently I saw a Recycling Center feature on Hey (my email on steroids app), once activated, it would automatically move all my newsletter emails to the trash after 90 days, and all the emails in the trash would be deleted automatically after a month.

Small features like these are probably never a requirement for users, but they build trust and image around the product and keep them loyal and paying customers.

I wish Gmail and Outlook also follow suit, but maybe they want your storage to fill up so that you pay more the cloud 👀
