"And we work it out at night, that's the grave shift If we took another shot, would you chase it?" You guys wanted indie. I'll give you indie. I'll give you some good lo-fi emo-rap indie. I'll give you ARIES. ARIES started off as a producer on YouTube who made lo-fi emo mixes of popular songs. One thing I really liked about his videos is that he showed his entire process, and he is hella talented. He then released a few singles which I liked immediately. I first heard SAYONARA, randomly on some indie playlist and had to double take because it was so good. I think it's probably gonna be one of my most played songs this year. Aries is not just a musician though, he is an artist. His music videos, are extremely trippy, from the set piece ideas, to the vapourwave themes, and the editing and direction (done by himself) is next level. I am personally super proud of him to be a one man powerhouse. His overall persona and brand is very relatable as well, makes him seem like your chill friend who makes music on the side for fun. I also seem him inspired by a lot of Otaku culture so you know he's a weeb. He released his first album WELCOME HOME this year. It's a good listen, but my only complaint is all his songs end up using the same formula and start sounding similar. That still shouldn't stop you from listening to some of his best songs from it. Songs I Like: SAYONARA, CAROUSELL, RACECAR, DEITY, SANTA MONICA, BAD NEWS Link to his Spotify in my bio. Go listen to ma dude.
