Before I even say anything, can I just say how good it felt to go to a movie theater to watch an actual movie after almost a whole year? Everything from selecting the seats, to sneaking in your own snacks, I missed it all a lot. Ever since we are able to watch any movie in the comfort of our homes, watching movie in the theater is not just about watching the movie anymore, its like deciding to run in a park instead of a treadmill in the gym. Even though you're doing the same thing, its a different experience. ⁣ ⁣ Anyway Tenet. Yes lets talk about it. ⁣ ⁣ I have been a huge fan of Nolan ever since I first saw Inception. And then over a period of time I saw it maybe 10 more times, along with all his other filmography like Memento, Prestige, Interstellar and my personal all time favorite, The Dark Knight. So I was really really looking forward to this one. ⁣ ⁣ Straight out of the bat, is it Nolan's best movie? No. ⁣ ⁣ Is it generally a good movie? Fuck yes! And here is why - ⁣ ⁣ Without giving any spoilers away, firstly the concept of 'time travel' is an overused trope that has been showcased in movies and tv from each possible angle, so to be able to provide a fresh perspective on it is welcome. It obviously takes some time to wrap your head around it, but you're watching a Nolan movie, so you signed up for it. ⁣ ⁣ All the acting was on point. John David Washington continues the legacy of his father Denzel, without even trying. But more importantly, Robert Pattinson? Excuse me? I haven't seen you since I saw Twilight almost 10 years ago and suddenly you show up as this amazingly charismatic, yet purposeful actor to play a great supporting role in the movie? Damn, I'm really looking forward to watching more of him now. ⁣ ⁣ The spy thriller theme was something I really enjoy, along with the brutal actions scenes, Nolan really knows how to direct great action scenes. ⁣ ⁣ Finally a nod to the intense background score, tight film editing and actually even the costume department (the clothes were dapper af). ⁣ ⁣ When I left the theater, I was so immersed that it took me some time to readjust to normal life again.
