Kenny Beats

Today I'm going to talk about Kenneth Charles Blume III, aka Kenny Beats aka Officer Beats. You may have heard his name floating around if you listen to some hard rap going around. Along with being a FIRE producer, he is just so much more. ⁣ ⁣ Firstly this man knows his shit, he has a degree in music production from Berklee. Once he graduated, he was one half of LOUDPVCK, an EDM group, and gained a lot of success through that. But eventually he realized, his heart was always in producing hip hop, and that’s when he started doing exactly that. ⁣ ⁣ Okay now lets talk about that production. His beats are hella unique, he uses the most interesting samples and beat kits, he has the hardest 808s and its never monotonous, its fresh. Next, he actually produces with the artists. He always advocates producing for the artist based on their vibe and mood. The beats are catered to the artists and he brings out the best in them. He tells them how they can sound better, and that type of authenticity can only come from working hard in the studio. ⁣ ⁣ You can see all that in his YouTube show ‘The Cave’,where he brings out some of his rapper friends, they chill, talk, joke around while he makes them a beat and they go and spit a SICK freestyle. Its that easy. He singlehandedly got me interested in learning music production. His choice of artists who hangs out with is also really unique, they all are super talented and have great chemistry with him. ⁣ ⁣ He released UNLOCKED with Denzel Curry, that album is one of my favorites from this year. Its pure beats and rap. It is also accompanied by a great visual where both Denzel and Kenny recover their ‘leaked’ songs while transitioning through different types of sick animation styles music videos. ⁣ ⁣ You will definitely be hearing his signature tag ‘WOAH KENNY' on a lot of songs in the future.
